If you're wondering, the CPU overvoltage jumper enables expanded range, a bit like an ln2 mode jumper. Don't switch it when a voltage is already set! Otherwise the set voltage will be raised by the amount of headroom just unlocked, eg if it unlocks 1.7V to 2.1V and you have 1.6V set, now you have 2V.

Little fact the EPOX 8KHA+ was the first motherboard (to my memory anyway) aimed at enthusiasts that had a post code. And the post code modules on it are HUGE bigger then you find today. It was a Athlon XP board, and it didn't even have dual-channel support.

Feature set wise it was pretty decent back in the day. I had this very same board with my phenom II x4 965. The fact that it had 4x full pcie x16 slots electrically x8,x8,x8,x4 if you filled them up with GPUs really is what separated it from lower end am3 boards in 2009. But your right about the price I believe I paid $189 for this motherboard which was on the higher end for boards back then outside of stupidly overpriced ones. This mobo was one of the few that supported 140w CPUs back then as well which was needed if you wanted to use a phenom II x4 965.
VM was also a very nice lineup of Asus motherboards back in the Athlon XP days. I had the infamous A7N8X-VM/400 because it was the DDR-400 supported version of the A7N8X motherboard

AM3 is where I started as well and the Phenom II has always been my favourite CPU to overclock. I had a 960T Zosma that unlocked to a hex core.
Recently sold P5Q Pro, looks nearly identical to this one. Also, if you ever consider taking a break from modern setups and using a DDR3 based platform - please grab a BFR based kit too, like HMT41GU6BFR8C kit.
Oh, that brings good memories, I had M4A79 Deluxe board, same as shown in video but with DDR2 memory slots instead of DDR3. Sadly it's southbridge died and I had to make an upgrade to M5A97 R.2.0

I had the M4A78TD-EVO Rev1.3. Nice board, but keep tabs on the Northbridge temps, and even the 78 chipset ran HOT
Have this board right now and its driving me a little crazy. Using phenom ii 965 the 125W version and chose this board mainly for quadfire. Having a prob where I cannot get this board to use more than 290 watts from the wall. I hooked up a kill-a-watt as I was stumped and starting to question anything. Have a Gigabyte 890 I think im going to swap in to solve this. I hate giving up on boards but this one may have earned it. One of the first DDR3 boards IIRC
Huh, kind of reminds me of the K8N Neo2 I have. I found it odd that you had to put both sticks next to each other for dual channel operation, but that's what it's doing. this explains why that was a thing... cool.
That 4 phase VRM configuration with discrete mosfets looks very similar to those today's B450 motherboard
Still have one of the M3A79T DELUXE boards in an old rig I'm bringing back to life for some linux gaming. Got a phenom 2 9950 black edition. Found most of what I need so far for the ultra aluminus tower to match. Hard to find the old tiger direct specials now.
Watching this on a Phenom II X6 makes you feel kinda old :D
My old Asus AM2+ motherboard (M3N78-VM) has been rock solid. Been running it 24/7 for 12 years with a Phenom 8650. Not a single problem
Watching this on my PC with ASUS P6T Deluxe V2, an Intel motherboard that looks nearly identical to this and has most of the same components (including those black/orange memory slots). I miss those old exposed copper heat sinks from these old boards.
